The Presidio Blue Devils will take on the Westbrook Wildcats in a tournament on Friday. Presidio has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with ten straight losses, while Westbrook will come in with four straight wins.
Presidio is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Lake View on Friday, falling 18-10. Even if the Blue Devils couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Camila Ortega led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Vazquez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Hamlin on Monday, taking the game 7-2.
Bryleigh Larsen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenlee Gilbreath, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Paislee Muller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Presidio's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Westbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
