Leading Velma Jackson to victory were Cameron Tate and J'Ashton Williams. Tate scored 17 points along with three steals, while Williams almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Williams posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Cornell Bacon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
French Camp Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-19. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Velma Jackson, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-13.
