Softball Recap: Littlestown Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Littlestown had won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 16-4 to make it 12. Everything went their way against the Delone Catholic Squires as they made off with a 12-4 win. Considering the Thunderbolts have won 13 contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Littlestown got a great performance from Maddy Dubbert as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Dubbert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Libby Brown was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Adyson Popoff, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Littlestown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in six consecutive matchups.

As for Delone Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

On Delone Catholic's side, Teagan Funkhouser made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Littlestown will challenge Trinity at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Delone Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
