The Pingry School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Delaware Valley likes a good challenge.
Even though Seton Hall Prep scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, The Pingry School still came out on top. The Pingry School secured a 68-63 W over Seton Hall Prep. Given The Pingry School's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Seton Hall Prep is ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Delaware Valley suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Bridgewater-Raritan by a score of 57-54.
The Pingry School's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Delaware Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Everything went The Pingry School's way against Delaware Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as The Pingry School made off with a 73-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for The Pingry School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
