Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Ryle's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

Ryle had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Bracken County on Monday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Polar Bears. Considering the Raiders have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Rayne Patsel was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Leah Broussard, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Ryle has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Bracken County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8.

Coming up, Ryle will venture away from home to challenge Notre Dame Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.9, the Pandas 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bracken County, they will host Robertson County at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
