The Ballard Beavers will head out to challenge the Jackson Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Ballard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Ballard is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 19-14 win over Lincoln on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Lynx: they've now won six in a row.

Wren Wald was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Davis, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Ballard hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Jackson came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Timberwolves have posted since May 17, 2024.
Allie Thomsen (2025-UW) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madi Jacquot (2027), who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Jackson's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Ballard, their record now sits at 8-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ballard has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jackson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ballard might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Jackson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Beavers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
