It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Trinity Christian Trojans can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Apaches on the road and fell 55-28. The game was a close 14-13 at the break, but unfortunately for Trinity Christian it sure didn't stay that way.
When it comes to explaining why Trinity Christian lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Aidan Mills. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Eubanks, who gained 113 total yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Antonian Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayce Toscano, who threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Raleigh Strode also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Trinity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Antonian Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Antonian Prep will square off against Parish Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Parish Episcopal is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
