The Wortham Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a rough 48-22 defeat at the hands of Axtell. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wortham has scored all season.
Axtell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Tindle, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Maverik Oswald, who scored ten points.
Wortham has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Axtell, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wortham's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Riesel at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Riesel is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Axtell, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bremond at 7:15 p.m.
