The Westmoreland Bulldogs couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 40-29 to Adirondack on Monday. Westmoreland lost against Adirondack in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-48 score last time.
Adirondack's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maxim Weiler, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Bailey Gleasman was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Westmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Adirondack, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmoreland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Adirondack at 7:00 p.m. on January 17, 2024. Adirondack won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mt. Markham at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th.
