Softball Recap: Liberty Wins Going Away Against Colfax

Liberty barely beat Colfax the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers blew past the Bulldogs 8-2 on Tuesday. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Jordyn Jeske made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sadie Stout, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Liberty pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Colfax, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Liberty beat the Bulldogs by a score of 13-3 later that day.
