On Tuesday, Frontier didn't have quite enough to beat Valley and fell 8-7. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Davyn Ferrell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Austin Kephart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shadyside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past Monroe Central 4-2.
Aiden Clegg tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Shadyside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Micker, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Shadyside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Frontier, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Frontier's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Cougars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game.
