After flying high against the Apex Cougars last Friday, the Green Level Gators came back down to earth. The match between Green Level and the Catamounts wasn't particularly close, with the Gators falling 62-43. Green Level has struggled against the Catamounts recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Green Level lost, one person who can't be blamed is Deana Prasad. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Prasad hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Ryan Baker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two blocks.
Green Level struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Panther Creek pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Taylor Barner was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds for Panther Creek. That makes it three consecutive games in which Barner has scored at least a third of Panther Creek's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Tucker, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Green Level's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Panther Creek, their victory was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Green Level will take on the Imps at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cary will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Gators are ranked 64th). As for Panther Creek, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Apex focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
