If the Boulder Panthers were riding high off their 65-26 takedown of the Northglenn Norsemen last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Boulder took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rocky Mountain on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Boulder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Rocky Mountain is ranked 34th).
Despite the loss, Boulder still got an impressive performance from Megan Matthews, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Matthews has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played.
It was another big night for Meela Delap, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and five steals for Rocky Mountain. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Chicco, who scored 17 points.
Boulder now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Rocky Mountain, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Boulder will square off against Fort Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Fort Collins is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for Rocky Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
