The Hubbard Eagles lost against the Salem Quakers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hubbard lost to the Quakers at home by a decisive 55-40 margin. Hubbard has struggled against the Quakers recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Hubbard's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braydon Songer, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rybicki, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Hubbard has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Salem, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hubbard will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Girard is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to challenge the Dukes at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
