Severna Park’s boys' team will begin defense of its 2007 Maryland public school (4A-3A) state championship title at home against North County on March 25, prior to hosting the annual Severna Park Varsity Boys Lacrosse Tournament on March 28 and 29.
Severna Park won its second consecutive state championship in 2007 and its third in four years by defeating Wootton, 15-6. The game against North Country will be the first of the season for both schools.
The girls’ team from Severna Park is also the defending state champion, defeating Dulaney, 13-9, in the 2007 final. The Severna Park girls have also won three of the last four championships. They will participate in the Anne Arundel Community College High School Girls Lacrosse Tournament on March 22, and then open up at home against North County. It will be North County’s first official game of the season following scrimmages against Landsdowne, Queen Annes County and Glen Burnie.
