If the Bethel Jaguars were feeling good off their 68-32 takedown of the Swett Warriors on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bethel opened the new year with a less-than-successful 54-50 defeat to they on Friday. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while McClymonds is ranked 160th).
Bethel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being H. Howard, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of M. Longmire, who scored eight points.
Bethel's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for McClymonds, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Bethel will be playing at home against El Cerrito at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McClymonds, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Oakland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday.
