Reading moved up to 207 from 253 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Berks Inter-County 1. The Knights were able to make the jump by beating Twin Valley 52-16.
Muhlenberg and Pottsville played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Muhlenberg eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
Conrad Weiser's dynamic duo of Nick Schoener and Dexter Jordan proved tough for Daniel Boone to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Schoener threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns and Jordan had 57 yards receiving. Alex Guilbe helped Conrad Weiser's passing attack out by catching two balls for 26 yards.
Aaron Kuperavage was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 99 yards on 20 carries as the Crimson Tide beat the Blazers. Teammate Michael Wythe added to the ground attack by rushing for 72 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Schoener and Angle Cruz Conrad Weiser has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Schoener leads the league in passing with 589 yards, while Cruz has rushed for 564 yards this season. The Raiders' Nigel Hill leads the league in receiving yards with 224 on six catches.
A big matchup in Berks Inter-County 1 this week will be when the Muhls take on Governor Mifflin. As it stands, Muhlenberg is in first, while the Mustangs are in fourth.
