Sumrall waltzed into their game  on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with  a   9-5  victory over the Brandon Bulldogs. This was payback for Sumrall, who suffered  an  11-2  defeat the last time these two teams met.
  Cade Clinton was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with five  RBI and a  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Malek McNair, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 On Brandon's side, they got a good showing from  Russell Robbins, who   struck out six batters over  3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and only one walk). Robbins has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Brandon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Xavier Myles, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4.
 Sumrall pushed their record up to 23-4 with that  win, which was their seventh straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.9 runs per game. As for Brandon,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 15-9.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sumrall will take on Mize at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Brandon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Grove at 6:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (Oak Grove: 3.8, Brandon: 3.2) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
