Volleyball Recap: Marion Finds Home Court Redemption Against Cahokia

There's no place like home for Marion, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Cahokia Comanches by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Thursday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Marion was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-10.

Paislee Freebourn paced Marion's offense, picking up four kills. Freebourn got some help from Addisyn Lenon and her nine assists. Kaylin Wolfe and Jacie Havens kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Marion is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Cahokia, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Marion will host Norris City-Omaha-Enfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cahokia, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Wesclin on the 13th.
