Edgewood Academy has not had much luck with Calvary Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Edgewood Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Johnny Groves, who scored 16 points. Groves has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Whitt, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Edgewood Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Calvary Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Edgewood Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Autauga Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian and Shaw will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shaw will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
