The Clinton Yellowjackets and the Elkins Elks squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Clinton Yellowjackets had to settle for second. Clinton had to suffer through a rough 63-27 loss at the hands of Elkins. Clinton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-14.
Da' Shawn Chairs was his usual excellent self, rushing for 153 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 carries. Chairs has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. James Townsend was in the mix too, providing Elkins with two touchdowns.
Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Elkins, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elkins will face off against Monticello at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monticello will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
