The Kongiganak Wolverines scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-38 victory over Kwigillingok on the road. Kongiganak has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.
Kongiganak was led to victory by Carson Miller and Maegan Miller. Miller scored 21 points, while Miller scored 25 points. Miller is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Maegan Charlie, who scored ten points.
Kwigillingok's loss came despite strong showings from Jasmine Andrew and Bessie David. Andrew scored 16 points, while David scored 11 points. That was a full 42.1% of Kwigillingok's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Kongiganak pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Kwigillingok, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Coincidentally, Kongiganak and Kwigillingok will both be playing Chief Paul Memorial the next time they take the court. Kongiganak will head out to face Chief Paul Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Kwigillingok will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
