This season hasn't been kind to the Kalida Wildcats, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 46-45 to Antwerp. While losing is never fun, Kalida can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 764th, while Antwerp is ranked 157th).
It was another big night for Landon Brewer, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds for Antwerp. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brewer has scored at least 25% of Antwerp's points. Zaine McMichael was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Kalida's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Antwerp, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Kalida's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Crestview at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Antwerp won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Jefferson is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
