The Riesel Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wortham. Riesel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wortham apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Riesel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Payton Hoelscher. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with three steals. Trent Hickerson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Riesel's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Wortham, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Riesel will take on Bremond at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Wortham, they will head out on the road to face off against Marlin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marlin will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
