Two dominant guards in Antron Mason II and Cooper Nelson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Bastrop Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Sterlington Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bastrop's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.
On Thursday, Bastrop took their game with ease, bagging an 84-17 win over Mangham. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Bastrop's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lebron Deal, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists, and Mason II, who shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Mason II is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Adameyon Moore, who went 6 of 8 en route to 14 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Bastrop was working as a unit and finished the game with 35 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Sterlington posted their biggest victory since January 7th on Tuesday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 72-43 win over North Webster. The Panthers pushed the score to 50-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights had little chance of recovering from.
Bastrop better keep an eye on Nelson. He was instrumental in Sterlington's win, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Sam Frazier was another key player, putting up eight points.
Bastrop is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.2 points per game. As for Sterlington, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-14 record.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Bastrop and Sterlington are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Bastrop hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 74.6 points per game. However, it's not like Sterlington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Bastrop took their win against Sterlington in their previous matchup on Friday by a conclusive 94-73. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Nelson, who went 15 for 30 on his way to 40 points and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Bastrop still be able to contain Nelson? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
