Mt. Rainier is 2-8 against Kentwood since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mt. Rainier Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Kentwood Conquerors at 7:00 p.m. Kentwood took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mt. Rainier, who comes in off a win.
Even though Kamiak scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Mt. Rainier still came out on top. Mt. Rainier walked away with a 65-57 win over Kamiak. The victory was just what Mt. Rainier needed coming off of a 72-28 defeat in their prior contest.
Zach Luz was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Emil, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kentwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 72-62 to Tahoma. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mt. Rainier now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kentwood, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Mt. Rainier came up short against Kentwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 56-48. Can Mt. Rainier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
