The Timberlake Tigers won the last time they faced the Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars, and things went their way on Thursday too. Timberlake escaped with a win against Genesis Prep Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timberlake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Yetter, who scored 17 points. The matchup was Yetter's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nate Dykeman, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Timberlake's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. As for Genesis Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Timberlake is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Rogers at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Rogers is ranked 93rd in Washington, while Timberlake is ranked 100th in Idaho). Genesis Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kootenai at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
