The Harris County Tigers will face off against the Ola Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harris County is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
Last Friday, Harris County earned a 14-6 win over McIntosh. Given Harris County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while McIntosh is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Harris County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mataye Youman, who rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown. Ran Ogletree did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Ola unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Dutchtown by a score of 20-17. Ola has not had much luck with Dutchtown recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nigel Newkirk, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Newkirk really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Caden Waye also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.
Harris County's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Hardaway and 0-10 Drew (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.8% over those games). As for Ola, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
