After four games on the road, South Callaway is heading back home. They will take on the New Bloomfield Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, South Callaway was the victim of a rough 88-68 loss at the hands of Fatima. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Callaway in their matchups with Fatima: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, New Bloomfield waltzed into Monday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 win over Belle.
New Bloomfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wyatt Jordan led the charge by scoring 18 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Fuhriman, who scored 13 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Versailles' win bumped their season record to 0-0 while South Callaway's defeat dropped theirs to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for South Callaway against New Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 81-34 victory. Does South Callaway have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Bloomfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
