Kane is 2-8 against DuBois Central Catholic since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. Kane is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Kane's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Eisenhower with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Wolves have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brock Wensel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eric Novosel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Preston Darr was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Kane always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eisenhower only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, DuBois Central Catholic fell victim to DuBois and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 8-0 to the Beavers. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Cardinals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Kane's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for DuBois Central Catholic, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kane hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like DuBois Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kane might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from DuBois Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
