King's Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They snuck past the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish with a 43-39 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-43 last Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Knoxville Catholic lost, don't look at Amaya Redd. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Redd's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maggie Frana, who posted nine points.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Knoxville Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

King's Academy and Knoxville Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. King's Academy (ranked 17th) will meet Clayton-Bradley Academy (ranked 311th) at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Similarly, Knoxville Catholic (ranked 35th) will meet Hardin Valley Academy (ranked 152nd) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
