Baseball Recap: Broomfield Extends Winning Streak to Four

Broomfield entered their tilt with Frederick on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 8-4.

Riley Weihing looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brendan Fritch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jackson Shepherd, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Broomfield's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Frederick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Looking ahead, Broomfield is taking a road trip to square off against Centaurus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Frederick, they will host Holy Family at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
