4A Region 4 recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Region 4 this week, Booneville beat Pottsville 35-7. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Bearcats.
Booneville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting the Apaches. Scott Hyatt's team came in at 14 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Maumelle's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyshun Robinson threw for 128 yards and JB Minix had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Robinson chipped in 99 yards. Braylon L Waits helped Maumelle's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 58 yards.
Robinson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 99 yards on 23 carries as the Hornets topped Dardanelle. Teammate Corey Cullins added to the ground attack by rushing for 22 yards.
Maumelle's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Robinson has thrown for 1,181 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Minix has 26 catches for 549 yards. Robinson also leads the league in rushing with 565 yards.
The top two teams in 4A Region 4 will face off this week when first place Booneville takes on second place Maumelle.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Maumelle takes on the Bearcats. Mike Buchan's team has allowed 86 points this season, while Booneville has given up 107. The Hornets allowed 15 points last week as they defeated the Sand Lizards.
Dover led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Waldron.
