Greenwood Wins 18th-Straight Thanks to Kane Archer
Kane Archer was instrumental in extending Greenwood's winning streak to 18 on Friday. Archer turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 242 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Russellville had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Archer it was a similar story. On Friday, Southside had to settle for second even though Wilson Key put up the best numbers he has all season. Key threw for 234 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Southside's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. Key and Southside will square off against Shiloh Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rounding off our Top Five is Hayden Barton of Lake Hamilton. Barton rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Barton might have his next game, a home matchup with Van Buren, circled on his calendar. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Barton saw the Pointers), he rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry.
