The Jefferson Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 57-48 to The Pinnacle. Jefferson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Pinnacle apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Antonio Lynch, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Lynch continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dominic Garcia was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Even though they lost, Jefferson were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Jefferson bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for The Pinnacle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will take on Lake County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Pinnacle, they will head out on the road to challenge DSST: Montview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in DSST: Montview's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
