The Franklin Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Folsom Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Franklin entered their tilt with Elk Grove with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Franklin enjoyed a cozy 65-47 victory over Elk Grove on Friday. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Elk Grove is ranked 513th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Rollins, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Rollins posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Gregory Piotrowski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Folsom was able to grind out a solid win over Oak Ridge on Friday, taking the game 65-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Folsom.
Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Folsom, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.
Franklin didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Folsom in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Folsom's Makayla Rose, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Franklin to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
