Marshall was led to victory by Robert Fields and Tayvion Lawrence. Fields scored 23 points, while Lawrence scored 25 points. It was the first time this season that Fields scored 15 or more points.
Sterne's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Marshall, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.
