It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Derby Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-6 victory over Lawrence. The win was familiar territory for Derby who now have nine in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Braxton Clark, who threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Da?saahn Brame was another key contributor, picking up 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Derby pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.1 points. As for Lawrence, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Derby will head out on the road to face off against Manhattan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Manhattan is ranked ninth, while Derby is ranked fifth). Lawrence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
