 Mt. Shasta's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7-2. As for Weed, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.
 Mt. Shasta was able to grind out a solid  win over Weed in their previous meeting  on October 2nd, winning  3-1. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was  the Cougars'  Judith Atondo, who  had 21  digs.
