The Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack will face off against the Academy for Innovative Education Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Schoolhouse Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Schoolhouse Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Berean Christian get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Wolfpack have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Samantha Torres looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Valeria Vazquez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Angelly Benitez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Schoolhouse Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Academy for Innovative Education, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They won by a run and slipped past Morningside Academy 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Aviators have posted since March 19th.
Academy for Innovative Education's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Schoolhouse Prep, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
Everything went Schoolhouse Prep's way against Academy for Innovative Education in their previous meeting back in April, as Schoolhouse Prep made off with a 15-0 victory. Do the Wolfpack have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aviators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
