The Elizabeth Forward Warriors waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Albert Gallatin with a 76-71 victory. Given Elizabeth Forward's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Colonials are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Albert Gallatin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake White, who scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shymere Wilson, who scored 16 points.
Elizabeth Forward's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Albert Gallatin, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elizabeth Forward will square off against the Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Uniontown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Albert Gallatin, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Raiders at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
