Softball Recap: Peak to Peak Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Peak to Peak won the last time they faced Jefferson Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pumas were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Jaguars. Considering the Pumas have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Karina Lefort made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Grace Trasky was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Evelyn Deemurrie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Peak to Peak's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13. As for Jefferson Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peak to Peak will take on Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jefferson Academy, they will challenge The Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
