This season hasn't been kind to the Union Spartans, who are still winless after their 15th game. They suffered a rough 53-32 loss at the hands of Hobbton on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Union in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.
Ashawd Wynn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hobbton, scoring 22 points. Wynn hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Garret Britt, who scored nine points.
Union dropped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hobbton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will face off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neuse Charter is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season. As for Hobbton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully North Duplin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
