The McCluer North Stars won the last time they faced the Belleville West Maroons, and things went their way on Tuesday too. McCluer North walked away with a 62-52 victory over Belleville West.
Belleville West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Scott, who scored 11 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Myles Liddell, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
McCluer North now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Belleville West, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
McCluer North will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. Belleville West will be home for the holidays to greet East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East St. Louis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Belleville West likes a good challenge.
