While losing is never fun, White Oak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1262nd, while Tyler HEAT is ranked 230th).
Tyler HEAT's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Waker Hartman, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hartman has scored all season. Jackson Tomlin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists.
White Oak has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Tyler HEAT, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-5.
White Oak will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Joaquin at 6:15 p.m. Joaquin is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Tyler HEAT, they will head out on the road to take on East Texas Homeschool Sports at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. East Texas Homeschool Sports has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
