Their rough 88-64 loss to Northwood Temple Academy might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Falcon Christian Academy has suffered yet this season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan McMillian, who scored 14 points along with eight assists. Dre Glenn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Kenny Vera was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Northwood Temple Academy. Vera continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Mendez, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Falcon Christian Academy's loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-1. As for Northwood Temple Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Falcon Christian Academy and Heritage Christian Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Heritage Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 661st, while Falcon Christian Academy is ranked 285th). As for Northwood Temple Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Berean Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Baptist Academy is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
