Carlsbad lost against Clovis two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Tuesday. The Cavemen/Cavegirls fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of  3-2. While the Cavemen/Cavegirls didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats  25-20 in the first  set.
 Carlsbad started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 16-25, 25-21, 26-24,  15-9.
Carlsbad's defeat was  their seventh straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Clovis, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Carlsbad is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Roswell  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clovis will  take on  rival Hobbs  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
