Fort Dodge was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Des Moines East on Friday. The Dodgers blew past the Scarlets 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Dodgers, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Fort Dodge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Des Moines East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Fort Dodge will venture away from home to challenge Mason City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Des Moines East, they will welcome Des Moines North at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Scarlets are facing the Polar Bears at the right time seeing as the Polar Bears are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
