The La Grange Leopards won the last time they faced the Austin Achieve Polar Bears, and things went their way on Tuesday too. La Grange claimed a resounding 64-6 win over the Polar Bears on the road. Given La Grange's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Polar Bears are ranked 1491st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
La Grange got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylie Trlicek out in front who scored 27 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Campbell Cooper sg 2027, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
La Grange pushed their record up to 18-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Austin Achieve, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.
La Grange will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Buffaloes at 6:15 p.m. Giddings knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Leopards like a good challenge. As for Austin Achieve, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
