They weren't the only one making solid contact: Grainger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Unicoi County entered their tilt with Daniel Boone on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Trailblazers.
Kaden Cutlip spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.
On the hitting side, Dustin Bogart was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kolby Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Grainger's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for Unicoi County, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grainger hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Unicoi County struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
